About Alicia

A lifetime of pain and physical ailments started Alicia on the path to being a fervent believer in the benefits of massage therapy.

Alicia began giving and getting massages at home at the age of 11 years old. She often exchanged massages with her parents after her dad’s back injury in 1980.  Her mother struggled constantly with pain due to a neck injury from her youth. Alicia did not know then the pain she was seeking relief from was the beginning of her life-time battle with scoliosis.

While working as a physical therapist technician in 1995, the opportunity arose for her to enroll in massage school and her thinking was that it could be a fun way to get her through the rest of her college. Now, 25 years later, massage therapy has long ago become not just her career yet also her life’s passion. I’ve heard her say more than once “I feel so blessed to have found what I love to do so early on in my life.”

Alicia is an on-fire believer in therapeutic massage therapy and practices what she teaches. Regular exercise and weekly massages have been one of several important ways in which she is able to gain and now maintain her health holistically and naturally.  By receiving weekly massages for over 15 years, Alicia has changed the scoliosis curve in her back from 24 degrees off a normal aligned spine to less than 5 degrees.

Alicia has spent her life overcoming several obstacles to her health including restless leg syndrome, vertigo, fainting, incontinence, hemorrhoids, four head injuries, breast cancer, intestinal cancer, two significant car accidents, and Lyme’s Disease.  Alicia turned to a handful of alternative healing practices, methods, regiments, modalities, and routines to find relief and help. Some of her favorites include Young Living essential oils, healthy intake of food and nutrition, and Dr. Schultze’s cleanses.  Alicia feels that aligning her body has been a highly important and essential foundation for finding healing.

Her passion for getting well has now become a passion for her to stay well.  Currently, she is not only running triathlons, she is also running them pain-free! She began competing in these events seven years ago at the age of 45 and has now raced in 20 triathlons in which two of them were Olympic distance triathlons.

In Alicia’s spare time, she needs and enjoys spending time with the people she loves and including her two dogs, spending time in nature, taking outdoor macro photography of God’s creations, and cutting and splitting firewood for her own fireplace.

Feel free to ask Alicia how receiving regular weekly therapeutic massages has made a difference in her life.
